We are always looking for bright and motivated scientists that are curious about mechanisms and prevention of cardiovascular disease. We work with several national and international collaborations, and we aim to expose our students to a wide range of techniques and labs, networking opportunities, and we support attendance at conferences. 

Our supervisory style is very hands-on in the beginning, giving the student every opportunity for training and plenty of feedback so they can grow into amazing independent thinkers and researchers. Please have a look at our lab manual before you apply to join us so you know our expectations and team culture. 

 
The Monash Doctoral Program is a 3-year research-intensive course that involves some coursework directed at career development. You are expected to do cutting-edge research and develop independent projects, read a lot of papers and be on top of the research published in our field, write commentaries, reviews and research papers, perform experiments in the lab, and present in conferences, but we also hope you can have fun and make some friends for life. in our lab - you will receive plenty of training and advice on how to achieve all of the above and thrive!

 

While experience in the techniques we work with is not essential, it is essential to be a team player, be motivated and be willing to learn. 

PhD scholarships for Australian and international students are available through Monash University. These scholarships are very competitive and cover living expenses and waive tuition fees.
